| Kulusuk Visit A day in East Greenland If you can only squeeze one day into your schedule for Greenland it’s still better than not going at all! You can experience a bit of Inuit Greenland on a one day excursion to Kulusuk. This all starts with a two hour flight from Reykjavik to the east coast of Greenland. Once on the ground at Kulusuk, you’ll have a guided walking tour to the village of Kulusuk on Cap Dan. The one day tour is great for clients who are in Iceland for other activities. Kulusuk Classic One-day tour includes flights, (with a light meal served both ways) a guided tour of the fishing village of Cap Dan with some time for independent exploration of this village of 360 souls. | Two
Days in East Greenland If you have some time to explore Greenland’s east coast, it’s only a short flight from Iceland, so you can easily you spend several days in Kulusuk (or take the tour that combines it with time in Ammassalik, which is only a short helicopter ride from Kulusuk). These two to four day tours can start most days (not Sunday) in Greenland. Day 0 Leave the US for early morning arrival in Iceland. (See below for prices without flights from North America; many clients are already in Iceland so we offer this option. Day 1 We include a voucher for the Flybus shuttle between Keflavik and Reykjavik airports, to catch your 2 hour flight to Greenland. Depending on which package you book, you’ll spend the night at Hotel Kulusuk, a comfortable hotel, breakfast and dinner, optional day tours to be booked locally. Day 2 You’ll have a choice of locally guided tours each day which the hotel will advise on and book for you or you can go exploring on your own. Some local options are listed on the back. Last Day in Greenland After breakfast and check out, you’ll transfer to the airport and head back to Reykjavik, arriving late afternoon. We’ve included one more night in Reykjavik - where to eat? Last Day in Reykjavik, Iceland Depending on your return flights, you may have some time for some more Reykjavik -- we’ll let you know of options and include a Flybus voucher to get you to Keflavik in plenty of time for your homeward flight. We can extend this time to three days and two nights in Kulusuk Some of the optional excursions in Kulusuk, which can only be booked locally! | Iceland and East Greenland
Itineray Day 0 Overnight flight to Iceland Travelers from North America leave for Iceland on an overnight flight with an early morning arrival at Keflavik Airport in Iceland. Day 1 Welcome to Iceland! Reykjavik City Tour You’ll have a ticket for the Flybus shuttle which will deliver you to your hotel. You’ll have the morning to relax.In the afternoon you’ll be picked up for a 3 hour Reykjavík city tour, from the older city center to Hallgrímskirkja and the Tjorn. You’ll spend your first night in Reykjavik. Day 2 Off to Greenland You’ll take a cab to the domestic airport in Reykjavik. Here you’ll have a mid morning flight to Kulusuk, with lunch during the two hour flight. Upon landing you’ll have a short helicopter ride to Ammassallik, where you’ll be meet by your guides, who take you to the Hotel Ammassallik for check-in and an informational meeting. You’ll have three nights here -- there will be time for some of the optional excursions. Breakfast and dinner are included every day. Some day tours include lunch.Your guide and hotel staff will advise on and book the optional excursions. As with everything in Greenland, the availability of these is affected by the weather! Days 3 & 4 Explore Ammassalik You’ll have a full day to explore this area, isolated from much of the world until the last century. Some day tour options are listed on the reverse. Day 5 This morning there’s some time to see a bit more, and then the return flight to Reykjavik, with lunch on the plane. You’ll need to take a cab to your hotel and then you can settle in for your Iceland experience. This might be a good night to sample some of Iceland’s more upscale restaurants, and if you're hardy, some of its famous nightlife. Day 6 Golden CircleToday you’ll take in the “must see” sights of Iceland on the Golden Circle Tour - Geysir, Gullfoss, and the national park at Thingvellir, home of Europe’s first parliament in the ninth century. There will be a lunch stop and you’ll be back in Reykjavik late afternoon. Day 7 Blue Lagoon, Iceland and home A good way to make a relaxed departure. After breakfast you’ll be picked up at your hotel and taken to the Blue Lagoon, in the midst of the scenic Reykjanes peninsula, where you’ll have a bit of time to soak, before heading out to Keflavik airport in time for your plane. Dates: The 7 day/6 night Iceland and East Greenland tour starts daily except Sundays. Like all of our tours, it can be added on to any other Iceland Adventure!
